This is one of the oldest resort hotels in Japan and it use to be a country house of an old Japanese baron. This hotel has also large rose and azalea gardens. Guest may be able to enjoy a scenic Mount Fuji view from the gardens, some rooms and observatory when the weather is fine especially in winter. Outdoor public hot spring bath is also available.(02/12HT). All room are large and facing Lake Ashi. The room is decorated in chic style with wooden furniture. The bathroom is medium size. There is a French restaurant on the ground floor with wide-opened windows facing the lake Ashi. In summer, the hotel provides some seats on the outside terrace , where fresh gentle breeze blows from the lake. There is a lounge on the ground floor offering coffee, cakes and cocktails in front of the fireplace. It is small with some sitting space and wooden floor. It is a 4-storey white building, which looks like a European guest house. The Ryokan has public hot spring bath at both indoor and outdoor. This is a good choice for guests who would like to enjoy hot spring at traditional style accommodation, Ryokan, taking a short trip from Tokyo. All rooms are large and in traditional Japanese style with Tatami floor (straw mats). There is no bed facility of Western product. By day, the rooms are furnished with a low table and zabuton floor cushions on Tatami mats. There is also a sitting area with two armchairs with a coffee table. By night, the room is transformed with Japanese futons (sleeping quilt) into a sleeping area by hotel staff. They are also equipped with modern facilities like a television (local language program only), air-condition and tea set. Each room has own private bathroom. Rooms are clean and in good condition. There are one Japanese restaurant and lounge/bar in the hotel. Dinner and breakfast are served in the restaurant, if included in plan. It is a large with some sitting chairs in modern Japanese atmosphere.
