The lodge has a boma (round outdoor cultural eating area) where guests can enjoy drinks around the fire before dinner. The enclosed outdoor viewing lounge allows guests to view the animals as they come down to the watering hole. Game walks and drives to nearby reserves are available daily. Bushlands Game Lodge has an abundance of birdlife on the property and is registered as a birder friendly establishment. A great place to stay for those wanting to explore Hluhluwe National park and the surrounding area. The Lodge has 25 spacious air conditioned rooms. These rooms are elegantly furnished are en-suite and include television and a small kitchen. Each rooms has African art on display and seating and a writing table for guests. The bright and pleasant rooms are connected by raised wooden walkways which lead to the main dining room, bar and swimming pool. The restaurant has a terrace overlooking the pool area and the beautiful surrounding bush life. There is a good choice of local and international food on the menu. The resident chef prepares mouth-watering meals and specialises in succulent venison and other game dishes. This is a great lodge offering guests a variety of cultural activites including a visit to the snake and crocodile park and game drives to the neighbouring national parks. Dumazulu has a lovely outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and well maintained gardens. The lodge is connected by wooden walkways to Dumazulu Village, where guests can watch and learn about Zulu traditions including basket-weaving, spear and shield making, beadwork, pot-making, Sangoma bone-throwing and spectacular Zulu dancing. The Dumazulu Traditional Village is home to over 50 Zulu residents forming part of a "living museum". The lodge units include private en-suite bathrooms with showers, air-conditioning, telephone and tea/coffee making facilities. Dumazulu has a huge thatched open area where guests can enjoy an outdoor dining experience, alternatively guests can eat in the lodge restaurant.
